Group tours scheduled during the week. We are a working farm and recognized as a Virginia Century Farm with a dairy, apple orchard and beef cattle and "The Pumpkin Patch". This will be our 8th year opening the farm to the public in the fall. We offer pick your own apples, hayrides to the pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkin, antique equipment display, an 8 acre corn maze (Tomb of the Phantom Pharaoh), a 4,000 sq ft. haunted house (Haunted Nightmares), and our Packing Shed will be open with fresh & sparkling cider, fresh baked pies, etc., pumpkin pie fudge, apples of course, and our newest venture, Antiques & Collectibles. Plus we have a large picnic area. Much to see!
Hill High Farms shows up on our directory of Virginia apple orchards because it's a real, working farm, not an aggregator or affiliate page. Details below reflect what the orchard and its local sources have shared publicly.
Hill High Farms sells pre-picked apples from the farm stand rather than offering U-Pick.
Apple season at Hill High Farms tracks the rest of Virginia. Most fruit ripens between late August and late October. For photographers and casual pickers alike, the first three weekends of October tend to be the sweet spot, cooler mornings, changing leaves, and the widest variety selection.
Weekend mornings between 9 a.m. and noon are the friendliest arrival window. If you can swing a weekday, Tuesday or Wednesday mornings are the quietest, some visitors report having entire rows to themselves.
